Don't Dream...Become Your Dream ~ Live Life With No Regrets!
We have one life. One chance. Why waste your life by living the life of someone else?
Do you go through life with buried dreams or buried goals that are like precious gems just waiting to be unearthed? Do you wake up each day walking through life like a robot, going through the routines and doing what you're expected to do all the while feeling empty inside? Or are you excited about life and thrilled at what the future holds? Are you really living the life that you were meant to live?
Everyone has a purpose. Everyone has a reason for being on this Earth. When God created men and women he put certain talents and potentials in each one of us. He let our paths encounter certain situations, whether good or bad, that has helped to mold us into the people that we are. But too often we override these God-given abilities or circumstances and allow our vision to become cloudy and out of focus. We set temporary goals that we think we want to attain and pursue happiness for the short term all the while throwing more dirt on our true hopes and dreams and burying them further. The result leaves us in uneasiness and unrest which ultimately leads to unfulfillment. Then, we try to remedy this but reach for more of what we can gain quickly to make us happy. Before we realize it we are doing something that is completely against who we are and who we were created to be.
There is a well-known quote by Jordan Grooms: "If God calls you to be a missionary, don't stoop to be a king." You can fill in the blank. There are so many things that may seem more "glamorous" in the eyes of the world but if it's not who you are then you will never be happy.
There is no greater misery than a dream
unfulfilled or a calling
unattained. So why not reach for the
stars? There are
enough average people in this world. Dare to defy
the
ordinary!
Don't limit yourself or you may be at risk at limiting God. It is true that without Him we can do nothing BUT through Him ALL things are possible. So tap into your God-given potential and let Him take you to the place that you were meant to be since the day that you were conceived. The hopes, dreams and secret goals that we have for ourselves were placed there by God Almighty Himself when He formed and made us. Not the short-term desires or thrills that pump up the adrenaline temporarily but those heartfelt dreams that we live and breathe in the back of our minds and just the mention of them makes the heart beat with longing. It's the thing that you keep coming back to week after week and year after year after all the passing thrills have come and gone.
It keeps coming back because this is what you were born to do and you will never know true and complete fulfillment until you quit dreaming and let yourself become that dream.
When we fail to do that thing we are meant to do not only are we cheating ourselves but we are cheating others as well. Would we be as advanced in our modes of transportation today if Henry Ford had never determined to make a car? What if the Wright brothers would have given up at their first failed attempt? All of the technologies that we enjoy today are tangible results of dreams fulfilled.
Almost everyone seems to live below their potential and because of the demanding pace of life they feel it necessary to pursue the here and now. More than likely this same way of thinking has grabbed on to you at one time or another and if you are like most it has totally paralyzed your efforts to conquer your dreams. This helpless mentality is caused from the stresses and realities of everyday life and threatens to imprison you. You may say, "I have bills due now so those college hopes for that dream job just can't happen. After all, we must live in reality and face that we don't always get what we want in life." Or if you're like me you may say, "I have four children how could I even think of pursuing a full-time ministry?"
If you feel that same tugging on your heartstrings every time you think on the subject of your dreams then believe that God can make it happen no matter how impossible it may seem. Like another unknown author put it... "The will of God won't lead you where the grace of God can't keep you."
The problem most of the time is with ourselves and our willingness to make it happen. God has done His part by equipping us with the talents that we need or the ability to obtain them. Too often we don't want to deal with the consequences of what it will cost us. We want to be mighty in the Kingdom but we don't want to be a servant first. We don't want to spend hours in prayer, miss a few meals or make friends out of enemies. Maybe we do those things but are just worried of what people will think of us if we decide to take that big step. We begin to let our insecurities or the fear of the unknown choke out our hopes. No one said that living up to one's potential would be easy. No one said there wouldn't be hard work, tears or a lot of ridicule. We just have to determine if our dream is important enough to us. Everything that we strive to achieve in this life in reality we must fight for it. Why shouldn't it be our dreams? Even when the dream is obtained there will always be those things that you must do to maintain your dream. There will always be those against what you are doing, always the mockers and the scorners. More often than not these are just those who are jealous of you because they themselves have not had the drive to pursue their own dreams and they are wallowing in the misery of it. So, if you are ever to find true fulfillment you must be true to yourself first and to the calling that you feel that God is leading you.
What comes to your mind while reading this? What do you really believe God has meant for your lifework to be?
Of course, I'll encourage you to seek God in every decision. It's not just about "following your heart" because a man's heart may lead Him wrong. But in seeking God you are further equipping yourself to be all that you were created to be. After all, we are created for His glory, are we not?

"When The Dreamer Becomes His Dream"
1st vs. God talked to Joseph through dreams in the night, He shared them with his brothers, but his words they despised. They sold him into slavery hoping to banish good with strife, but the dreamer had God's plan upon his life.
Soon a famine broke out the men were crying for bread, Guilt flooded their minds with thoughts of Joseph being dead. So they journeyed to Egypt hoping to find a chance to live, Surely the ruler will find in his heart to give. Humbly they bowed low crying out to be redeemed, At that moment Joseph, the dreamer became his dream.
Chorus When the dreamer becomes his dream, He'll find a land of plenty, a harvest to glean. Food for the hungry, hope for the needy, the sinner will cry out to be redeemed, When the dreamer becomes his dream.
Bridge: There’s a field of opportunity God has reserved just for you, Just put your life into His hands and see what He might do. He can take a dream that just might be a mere impossibility, And lead you face to face with sure reality.
Chorus When the dreamer becomes his dream, He'll find a land of plenty, a harvest to glean. Food for the hungry, hope for the needy, the sinner will cry out to be redeemed, When the dreamer becomes his dream.
